Lake Tahoe's Cheapest Motel?
The South Lake Tahoe EconoLodge is a great value for those seeking to minimize hotel costs and maximize outdoor fun at beautiful Lake Tahoe. This very basic motel was renovated in 1997 and is operated by the EconoLodge chain. You can expect a clean room with few amenities about 1 mile from the South Lake Tahoe casino strip. The bathroom was particularly clean.
The motel's front desk staff will check you in and assign a room. The service doesn't go much beyond those two basics.
You can see the EconoLodge bathroom is fully tiled and well cleaned. The bathroom includes soap and shampoo. The shower stall was clean and well maintained.

As shown in this photo, the room includes a color television (no remote) and a desk area with bright light. Although not
intended as such -- the phone can be used to dial your internet ISP by easily removing the phone cord. Some of the room outlets are not
grounded for a laptop plug, but the bathroom plug is.
We recommend the EconoLodge motel in South Lake Tahoe for its cheap prices of $35-$80 depending on season -- a clean room -- and a convenient location. You could easily spend a lot more and get a lot less in Lake Tahoe.
